PBRH Sneaker Hockey League Fall 2008 Rules
**WILL BE UPDATED AT CAPTAIN"S MEETING**

1.      Games will wait up to 5 min. past the start time of a game for teams to have at least 3 players and a goalie; otherwise that team forfeits the game.  There will be no borrowing of players who are not listed on the team roster.

2.      If captains agree to change the date or time of a game, they must contact the referee liaison from the league committee before 24 hours of the start time of the original game, who will then contact and inform the referee of the change.  If team captains fail to contact the referee liaison before the allotted time, the team that does not show up with enough players will forfeit the game.

3.      In case of inclement weather, games are on schedule until 15 min. past the start time of the game unless notified by the captain or any member of the league committee.  Once games have started, it is the decision of the referee to cancel a game.  If games are cancelled, makeup games will be scheduled by league committee.

4.      If a player is suspended by the league due to a game misconduct, the player can challenge the decision in a hearing with the league committee.

5.      In case of a tie game in regular season after official time has expired, teams will play a 5 min. overtime period with “sudden death” in effect.  If after 5 min. overtime has expired and the game is still tied, teams will go to a best of 3 shootout.  If after a best of 3 shootout has finished and teams are still tied, teams will choose additional players from the bench to enter shootout until the next single round is won.  Players cannot shoot twice unless all players have shot.

6.      In case of a tie game in playoffs after official time has expired, teams will play regular length periods with “sudden death” in effect, repeatedly until a goal has been scored.

7.      League standings will be based on a point system- 2 points for a win, 1 point for a loss in overtime/ shootout, and 0 points for a loss.  If at the end of the regular season, any teams have finished with an equal amount of points, the standings will be decided by their records against each other (“head-to-head”).  If still undecided, teams measure up according to their “goals for” stat, followed by “goals against” stat if needed.

8.      A volunteer scorekeeper will keep track of goals, assists, and penalty min. only, for every game.

9.      Sliding is allowed, however, if contact is made with an opposing player, a penalty will be issued.  If intent to cause injury is displayed, a double minor penalty will be issued.

10.  High-sticking is considered the stick being raised above the height of the crossbar.  If high-sticking is displayed, play will stop.  If high-sticking is displayed within close proximity of an opposing player, a penalty will be issued.

11.  Goalies must come from players on your roster.

12.  A league trophy will be given to the 1st place team at the end of the season.

13.  League awards will be handed out to individual players based on stats and voting of players.

14.  If teams need players for a roster (minimum of 9) at the start of the season, captains may choose individual players not yet assigned to a team as needed.  If players are still available and are not yet accounted for by a team, captains will draw from a hat to see which team(s) will have to pick up extra players.  Captains will then choose player names out of a hat to which they will add to their roster.

15.  If a team at any point during a game, cannot field from their bench at least 2 players and a goalie (due to multiple penalties), they will forfeit the game automatically.

16.  Playoff finals will be best 2 out of 3 games.

17.  Rosters are due to league committee from the captains by Sept. 14th, 2008.  Changes to rosters must be approved by the league committee and must be made by Oct. 12th, 2008.
